Controlled Feeding:
Our dedicated teams visit various locations every day to ensure that community dogs are fed adequately in a controlled and monitored manner. This approach helps to prevent dogs from straying into areas populated by humans in search of food. By keeping the dogs well-fed, we reduce the likelihood of aggression among dogs and minimize their interference with humans.
During the feeding process, food is served in trays, and our feeders remain at the feeding spots until the dogs have completed their meals. Afterward, the trays are collected, and the area is cleaned to maintain hygiene.
Water Bowls
Our community animals are tough and can live in extreme conditions with regard to lack of food. However, water is critical to their health and survival. Our team makes an extra effort, especially during the summer season to place water bowls across all our locations as well as the gates of housing societies and shops.
These water bowls are cleaned at regular intervals as well as filled with water whenever required. We usually use earthen pots as water bowls as the water automatically gets cool in such containers.
Temporary road-side shelters
The monsoon season in Pune can be a very difficult time for our community dogs. Due to continuous rains and insufficiently covered shelters, the animals often have to survive in a continuously damp environment. With dry shelter difficult to find, these animals live, sleep, and eat in the rain for several days at times.
Our teams build temporary shelters in as many locations as possible to give the community animals some kind of respite in the monsoon season.

Sterilizations and Vaccinations:
As responsible members of the animal welfare community, we conduct regular sterilization drives for dogs within our operational vicinity. By carrying out sterilization procedures, we contribute to the population control of dogs in the community, ensuring their well-being and preventing further suffering.
Also in collaboration with local veterinarians, we prioritize the vaccination of community dogs to reduce the incidence of rabies within our areas of operation. This crucial initiative safeguards the health of both humans and animals, contributing to the eradication of rabies and the overall well-being of the community.
Onsite Medical Care:
Living on the streets exposes community dogs to various health hazards. At Kunashni Foundation, we provide onsite medical aid to sick or injured dogs. Our dedicated teams monitor the dogs for signs of illness or injury and promptly report their findings to the veterinarian. Depending on the severity of the condition, we arrange for the vet to visit onsite, conduct comprehensive checkups, and administer appropriate treatments.
Throughout the recovery process, we ensure that prescribed medical protocols, including medication and specialized diets, are followed diligently. Regular vet checkups are organized to monitor the progress and well-being of the dogs under our care.
Hospitalization and Rehabilitation:
For cases involving serious illnesses or injuries, we make necessary arrangements to transfer the animals to veterinary hospitals for specialized treatment. Our dedicated teams make regular visits to monitor the progress of the animals and provide any additional assistance required for their full recovery.
Once the animals are discharged from the hospital, we transport them back to their original locations and continue to monitor their progress on-site until they have fully recovered. This process often involves further onsite medical care and ensuring a nutritious diet to support their rehabilitation.
Kunashni PAWS forever (Shelter Care):
In certain circumstances, animals that have been rescued for health reasons cannot be returned to their original domiciles. This may be due to factors such as old age, disabilities, or threats of animal cruelty. To cater to such cases, Kunashni Foundation has created its own dedicated micro homes for these animals by partnering with some of the best hostels/shelters in the city of Pune.
Currently, we sponsor/maintain two micro kennels: the “Khushi Ward,” and “PING AN XI LE Ward” (meaning Love, Care, and Happiness in Chinese). Each ward has dedicated caretakers who ensure the well-being and proper care of the animals residing there.
Your support is our life line. You can make a real difference in the lives of animals!
