Making Liver Cake for dogs
It is really simple to make liver cake for dogs. It needs only 4-5 easily available ingredients, a mixer or blender and a oven. Not to worry if you do not have a mixer or blender, one can use the gold old fashioned mixing by ladle (spoon) method.
Anything with liver is considered a delicious meal for dogs. A liver cake can be used as a tasty snack or treat for your pet, it can be mixed with regular food in case the doggy needs a little initiative to eat. It can also be used to conceal the medicines to be given to the dog. Both my dogs at home and my street dogs LOVE the liver cake.
Ingredients
- 250 gms of boiled liver
- 250 gms of wheat flour (atta)
- 2 eggs
- 2 slices of bread
- Butter Paper lined with Butter/Ghee
Preparation
- Whisk 2 eggs.
- Make a mixture of the boiled liver, wheat flour, and eggs.
- Pour the whisked eggs into it.
- Add the 2 slices of bread into the mixture.
- Pour the water that remains after boiling the liver into the mixture slowly, all the while mixing the ingredients together.
- Mash the bread (it will become soft due to the liver water) as well as the liver as you continue to mix. This mixing can be done manually with a fork or a hand mixer. I usually mash the contents initially using a fork and then use the hand mixer to ensure ingredients are spread evenly. Continue the process of mixing and adding the liver water till the mixture is like a thick syrup. Check out Best Selling Hand Blenders from Amazon here.
- Line the oven tray and butter paper ( Buy Butter Paper from Amazon ) with butter or ghee and then place the butter paper in the oven bowl. The butter paper is used to ensure the cake does not stick to the pan. Check out some great deals from Amazon on Oven trays.
- Pour the mixture into the oven tray.
- Preheat the oven at 180 degrees for 10 minutes. We use a Morphy Richards 28 RSS 28 Liters Oven Toaster Griller for all our baking needs. Check it out.
- Place the tray into the oven and bake for 45-50 minutes. One can check if the cake is ready by taking a knife and sliding it into the cake. Now take the knife out and if there are any wet ingredients stuck on the surface of the knife means it needs a little more time to bake.
- Once done, take the cake out of the oven and let it cool down. Slice the cake into little cubes. Now it’s ready for your PAWS to snack on.
